Kaliro District youths are planning a district-wide demonstration against the District Registrar of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Mr. Eric Dyaka who they accuse of stealing their allowances amounting to Twenty Seven Millions (Ugx 27,000,000).
The youths want the area Resident District Commissioner Ms.Billy Mulindwa to prevail over Mr. Dyaka and the District NRM Chairman Eng.Nelson Gagawala Wambuzi to release the funds they received for facilitating youth elections last week but never paid it to them.
A one Nyiiro Joel writing on a whatsapp group of Kaliro youths demanded that the RDC enforces justice for the youths adding that the district NRM leaders were continuously abusing funds meant for the youths.
The NRM secretariat in Kampala released the 27m shs to Mr. Dyaka and another Ugx 18.5m to Engineer Gagawala for PWD and Elders council elections but both had failed to deliver the money.
The growing rage among the youths is shielded in suspicion that the funds could have been diverted to the campaign of the District Youth Councilor also Speaker Mr. Sanon Bwiire Nadeba who is seeking the party’s endorsement to contest for Bulamogi County MP slot. Mr.Dyaka is a known supporter of Mr.Bwire and very loyal to Engineer Gagawala Wambuzi.

The party primaries are expected on Friday, September 4, 2020 and will be supervised by Mr.Dyaka.
The secretariat released Ugx 45,500,000 in two separate instalments over the last two weeks to facilitate elections for village and parish Youth councils, PWDs and the Elderly.

Smlnews understands that Ugx 27,000,000 was released to Mr. Dyaka for youth elections last week while Ugx 18,500,000 was released to Eng. Gagawala Wambuzi early this week.
Each village was entitled to Ugx 45,000 for participation in youth elections but no village received the money.
The youths want Ms. Billy Mulindwa, the RDC to ensure they receive their money or brave for widespread demonstrations.
In the whatsapp message, the RDC confirmed to ranting youths that indeed the money had been released and delivered to Kaliro and would be paid out to the beneficiaries on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020, days after the activity it was meant to facilitate.
Mr. Eric Dyaka in an audio clip also confirmed he had received the money but he said he wanted to first meet the RDC before giving it out, a claim the RDC challenged as weak causing more range among the youth.
Also in the race is former URBRA finance boss Dan Badebye Namwanza, incumbent Bulamogi County MP Kenneth Lubogo, Dr. Shaban Mugerwa and Mr. Benon Buyinza.
Mr. Sanoni Bwiire, the District youth Councillor and Speaker is seemingly set for a landslide victory in the Friday polls given his wide support among the youths.
His opponents believe Mr. Dyaka is using party funds to facilitate Mr. Bwiire’s campaigns hence the war drums.
In neighboring Kamuli District, the Registrar Mr. Solomon Baleke was arrested and detained over similar allegations of diverting youths’ money to personal use and acting with bias against some candidates in the party primaries.
Kaliro District Security teams are on high alert as youths continue to mount pressure and threaten demonstration against what they call ‘a trio of thieves’ referring to Mr. Eric Dyaka, Sanoni Bwiire and Eng. Gagawala Wambuzi.
This is a developing story…….
