This shift became apparent on June 9, 2023, when rival event promoters, Balaam Barugahara (NRM) and Abtex (NUP), hosted concerts on the same day, featuring Alien Skin and Pallaso, respectively.<\/p>\n

The outcome was largely determined by politics, with NUP supporters dominating Alien’s concert at Freedom City.<\/p>\n

Since then, politics has played a significant role in concert planning, with notable examples including Gravity (NRM) vs. Mike Wine (NUP) at Lugogo Cricket Oval and Jahazi Pier. Many artists have publicly sided with political parties, such as Bebe Cool with NRM and Bobi Wine with FDC, later forming his NUP party.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, artists like Hilderman, Geoffrey Lutaaya, and Bobi Wine are openly known as opposition artists .<\/p>\n

Though the list is endless, Here are some of the notable Artists who openly affiliated with the ruling government; Bebe Cool, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Ragga Dee, Full figure, Eddy Kenzo and Bucha man where-as those affiliated with the opposition are Hilderman, Geoffrey Lutaaya, Nubian Lee, Bobi Wine, Sizza Man, Afande Mega Dee and more.<\/p>\n

The president has even appointed artists like Full Figure, Bucha man, Catherine Kusasira, and Eddy Kenzo as presidential advisors, fueling the public reactions that they decided to side with the president with the aim of gaining wealth.<\/p>\n
