In a heartfelt special sitting, Uganda bid farewell to Hon. Sarah Mateke, honoring her significant contributions and addressing the need to complete her unfinished projects. The event brought together prominent leaders, including Speaker Anitah Among and Prime Minister\u00a0 Robinah Nabbanja, who highlighted Mateke\u2019s enduring legacy and the challenges ahead.<\/p>\n

Call for Unity and Completion of Projects<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaker Anitah Among urged unity and compassion in light of Mateke\u2019s passing. \u201cWe are living on borrowed time; at any moment, God might say, \u2018Give it back to me,\u2019\u201d she said. Among emphasized the importance of resolving conflicts and supporting one another. She also called on the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to allocate necessary funds for the completion of Mateke\u2019s projects, including the Kanyamatekye Bridge, the rehabilitation of Buhoozi Health Centre II, and the construction of a men\u2019s ward at Nyarusiza Health Centre III.<\/p>\n

Tributes to a Life of Service<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nabbanja highlighted Mateke\u2019s significant impact on community development and the integration of women and youth into Uganda\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n

Addressing Health Challenges<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nabbanja also touched on the broader issue of non-communicable diseases, which have increasingly threatened public health and deprived the country of transformative leaders like Mateke. The Prime Minister underscored the urgent need for ongoing focus and resources to address these health challenges.<\/p>\n
