Earlier today, the UMA Parking Ground was filled with energy as Rotarians and Rotaractors gathered for the annual Rotary Cancer Run. The event, which aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer treatment and prevention, attracted a large and diverse crowd.<\/p>\nThousands of participants at the Rotary Cancer Run 2024.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The Rotary Cancer Run, now in its 12th year, continues to be a major force in the fight against cancer in Uganda. Funds raised from the event will go towards ongoing projects, including the construction of a cancer treatment centre at St. Francis Hospital, Nsambya.<\/p>\n
The Rotary District Governor Anne Nkutu, speaking at the event, emphasized the importance of community involvement in the battle against cancer. Participants were not only raising funds but also spreading awareness about the importance of early detection and healthy living.<\/p>\nParticipants at the starting point.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
As the event concluded, there was a strong sense of accomplishment among participants, knowing they had contributed to a worthy cause.
