Edrisah Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo is a celebrated Ugandan musician who rose from humble beginnings. He was born in 1989 in Masaka District. The death of his mother and lack of support from both his paternal and maternal families left him no choice other than fending for himself on the streets of Masaka for over 6 years and later in Kampala before meeting his adopted family.<\/p>\n
As a young boy, he aspired to becoming a professional footballer prompting him to join Masaka Local Council Football Club at the age of 9 where he got a sports bursary that saw him join Lubiri Secondary School, although he did not complete his studies here, due to financial and other challenges. Despite his efforts to become a professional footballer, Kenzo’s natural talent drove him to the music industry. His dedication, commitment, resilience and determination have seen him become famous locally and internationally. He made history in 2015 when he became the first Ugandan artist to win a BET Award. His \u2018Stamina\u2019 and \u2018Sitya Loss\u2019 albums were a turning point in his music career which without a doubt has had great influence on his new appointment.<\/p>\n
The CEO and founder of Big Talent is very passionate about supporting charitable causes most especially street children due to his background. In 2015, he established the Eddy Kenzo Foundation through which he holds charity football matches to aid children with HIV and donate different items to Hospitals. His Big Talent Soccer Academy aims at nurturing local youth talent. He named the \u2018Ghetto Kids\u2019 who were initially called the \u2018Triplets\u2019 and shot his famous Sitya Loss video with them, who later got fame on an international music scene.<\/p>\n
Kenzo recently shocked his funs when he proposed marriage to his fianc\u00e9 Phiona Nyamutoro, Female National Youth Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development. He was previously in a relationship with Ugandan artist Rema Namakula with whom he has a daughter.<\/p>\n
Yesterday President Museveni appointed Edrisa Musuuza as a senior presidential advisor on Arts and Cultural Affairs.<\/p>\n
