A group of un identified thieves broke into the house of the late veteran Journalist, Author and political commentator, Joseph Tamale Mirundi in Kalagala, Rakai District and went away with money and other traditional objects that belonged to the late.<\/p>\n
“We have not yet identified any of them but we are confident they will bring everything they stole back. Whoever has those things will bring them back. No one steals from us and walks away just like that”. One of Tamale’s relatives said.<\/p>\n
His body was set to be received at his home upon arrival in Kalagala.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile preparations for the burial ceremony on Sunday are underway, residents have started digging his grave.<\/p>\n
“We are going to dig 15ft grave because we have to fulfil his last wishes and burry him while he’s standing”. One of the men digging the grave said.<\/p>\n
Here in Kampala, dignatories, officials and artists\u00a0among others;former Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, Minister for Kamapala City and Metropolitan Area Minsa Kabanda, artists Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo have joined hundreds of mourners at his home in Kyengera where the body will spend the night before leaving for Kalagala tomorrow morning, to pay their respects.<\/p>\n
While addressing mourners, John Ssali Ssembuya re-affirmed his intentions to seek forgiveness from Mengo and all the other people whom the brother offended when he was still alive.<\/p>\n
“After all this, I will look for the Katikiro and offer my apology on behalf of the family for my brother’s behaviour. The dead don’t speak, I will speak for him so that he can rest in peace”. Ssali said.<\/p>\n
Mr. Tamale Mirundi passed away on Tuesday August 13, 2024.<\/p>\n
