Photo by Job Nantakiika<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI informed the central government about the suffering you are going through after the fire outbreak but no response as yet but as Wakiso district we have managed to bring for you the mosquito nets so that they help you to fight malaria,\u201d said Bwanika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the LC3 chair man of Bussi sub county, Stanley Kabuye, Kakyanga\/Kavenyanja Island has got a population of 3,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kabuye expressed happiness for the relief items delivered saying many people lost their belongings to the fire and the clothes given to them will greatly help them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that all the Islands in Wakiso district are facing a problem of the expansion of the lake which is claiming people\u2019s residences and mosquitoes have multiplied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese days water has extended to people\u2019s houses and the water is stagnant and this has attracted many mosquitoes on all the Islands and am sure that these mosquito nets are going to help us in the fight against Malaria,\u201d said Kabuye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bwanika\u2019s deputy Betty Naluyima warned Kakyanga residents against using the mosquito nets for fishing instead of using them to protect themselves from malaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naluyima further asked the people not to sell the mosquito nets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE residents of Kakyanga\/Kavenyanja Island in Wakiso district have asked the central government to establish a health center on their Island for easy access of medical services.
