Nansana police station in Kampala is investigating a fatal accident that happened last evening at around 5:17 pm at Yesu Amala check point leaving one person dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police identifies the deceased as 52 year old Sempala Musa a resident of Bwaise 2 Zone in Kawempe Division Kampala District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is alleged that while riding on a motorcycle Reg No. UDM 081L Bajaj boxer red in colour, Sempala hit a motor vehicle Reg. No. UBA 310H, Isuzu Elf white in colour that was carrying metallic doors and timber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the deputy police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan police Luke Oweyesigyire, Sempala hit the vehicle from the rear as he was allegedly dodging the Tyre cutters at the checkpoint sustaining serious injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was taken to KEDI Clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We have impounded the Isuzu Elf, unfortunately the driver fled the scene after the accident” Owoyesigyire says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He however notes that occupants of the vehicle have been arrested to help them with investigations preferably the details of the driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police mouthpiece adds that the body of the deceased person was later picked from Kedi Clinic and taken to city mortuary Mulago for a postmortem<\/p>\n\n\n\n
