Former Kampala mayor Nasser Ntege Sebaggala Alias Seeya, is dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebaggala, 72, died at International Hospital Kampala where he was admitted two weeks backbeen after he developed a disorder in his stomach, commonly referred to as intussusception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kawempe North MP Latif Ssebagala, a brother to Seeya confirmed the sad news to journalists on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my older brother Al-hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala May Allah Grant him paradise” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebaggala was born in Kampala on November 15 1947.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was Mayor of Kampala from 2006 to 2011. He was an independent presidential candidate in the 2006 general election before dropping out and joining the Kampala mayoral race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2010, he unsuccessfully ran for the post of DP president but lost to Norbert Mao. Shortly after, he formed a political party but later dissolved it and joined NRM as senior presidential advisor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
