In a big move to help Ugandans become landowners and create wealth, the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Judith Nabakooba, has revealed that 57,325 freehold land titles have been prepared for people in seven districts: Bukedea, Soroti, Serere, Isingiro, Ntungamo, Maracha, and Kikuube.<\/p>\n
These land titles are part of a special government program by the NRM (National Resistance Movement), which aims to support vulnerable communities that cannot afford the high cost of land registration. \u201cGetting a land title is usually too expensive for many people, but it\u2019s very important for wealth creation,\u201d said Minister Nabakooba.<\/p>\n
She urged Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and other local leaders in the mentioned areas to work with her ministry to organize public events where the land titles will be officially handed over to the rightful owners. This, she said, will ensure transparency and dignity during the distribution process.<\/p>\n
