The Electoral Commission has launched the Parish and Ward level elections for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) across Uganda. These elections are a key part of the 2025\u20132026 General Elections Roadmap and focus on choosing leaders for Older Persons, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and the Youth.<\/p>\n
To take part in these elections, voters must meet three important conditions. They must be registered on the National Voters Register, appear on the SIGs register for their specific group, and be residents of the Parish or Ward where the election is taking place. These requirements are meant to ensure that only qualified members of each group can vote, making the process fair and organized.<\/p>\n
The Electoral Commission is calling on all voters to take part peacefully and follow the rules.
