The presidential Press Unit (PPU) has announced the appointment of H.E. Prof. Gilbert Bukenya as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Environment and Sanitation by President Gen. (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, who previously served as the Vice President of Uganda, has been reinstated to a new key position, showcasing the President’s trust in his abilities and dedication to addressing environmental and sanitation issues.

In his newly assigned role, Prof. Bukenya will advise the President on strategies to preserve the environment, promote sustainable development and enhance public health through improved sanitation practices. His leadership is expected to drive positive change in creating a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable Uganda.

This reappointment reflects President Museveni’s recognition of Prof. Bukenya’s capabilities and experience, emphasizing the importance of continuity and expertise in shaping Uganda’s environmental policies and fostering a better quality of life for its citizens.
