Police in Time East Kyoga are holding a 53 year old man on allegations of raping his mother, 100 in one of the most abominable incidents of the year.
The yet to be identified victim and suspect are residents of Olitoi village, Asamuk Town Council, in Amuria district.
The suspect is reported to have attacked his elderly mother in her lonely grass thatched house and committed the heinous crime against her, according to a report by the police’s chief mouthpiece, Fred Enanga.
He allegedly first tied her hands and legs with a mosquito net before raping her.
“The suspect was separated from his wife but on September 8, he returned home at 11pm and found her mother already sleeping in a grass thatched house. He entered the house and tied her hands with a mosquito net and raped her.” Enanga said in his address to the press.
The suspect then returned to the trading center where spent the night after the crime.
Upon finding out, residents moblised themselves to lynch the suspect only to be rescued by police
