Christians have been urged to stand in the gap and repent on behalf of the church for God to restore it’s image that has been tainted in the past years.
The was made by Pastor Tom Mugerwa of Mutundwe Christian Fellowship (MCF) church during end of year prayers held at the church on Friday.
While delivering his sermon, Mugerwa said whatever affects the church affects all christians.
Without being specific, the man of God said the born again faith has faced backlash due to the many evil doings in the past years which calls for God’s hand to be restored.
“People nolonger honor born agains. We have sinned alot and ashamed God’s name. The media has been awash with bad reports about God’s servants. We need to repent for the church as a whole. If you mind only about yourself, you won’t spread the gospel alone and yet God wants his name to be glorified in the whole world.” Said Pastor Mugerwa
He expressed displeasure with some christians who circulate bad news about God’s servants instead of praying for them.
“Not a day should pass without praying for God’s servants because the devil targets them to make many fall back.” He said
During the service, the congregants were led in an intercession prayer for all christians who have stumbled and backslid in their salvation walk for God to bring them back on truck.
The day coincided with the 5th anniversary of MCF radio, a christian radio station birthed from MCF ministry headed by Pastor Tom and Justine Mugerwa.
Speaking during virtual celebrations to mark the day, Solomon Balaba the station manager said the radio which started online in 2016 has so far acquired seven frequencies in different parts of the country.
“Our new additions are Mbale (95.8) and Mbarara (107.7) whose frequencies are still under signal testing. Our goal is to cover the whole country. We decided to expand due to the overwhelming support we have received.” Said Balaba
Balaba added “MCF radio is 100% christian radio station and we give only Godly content. This consistancy has helped us to achieve this milestone of being the most listened to christian radio station in the country.”
