Over the weekend, Agrofresh organized, and held a successful farmers exhibition at millennial farmers market in Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
The exhibition saw farmers from neighboring areas showcase and sell their products, like Matooke, Irish, vegetables, meat among others.
Laban Musinguzi the Executive Director Agrofresh Uganda, said the turnout at the exhibition was overwhelming, and also energising, seeing a local farmer able to sell something in the pandemic.
Musinguzi noted that the bimonthly exhibition which will be moved to different areas and regions starting next year, was premised at bringing together all sector players in one place, to help them interact and share knowledge.
He asked government to help intensify the fight against fake agricultural inputs that are flooding the market.
Raymond the manager Millennial Farmers market, thanked Agrofresh for partnering with them in a bid to uplift farmers’ earnings and living.
He revealed that they’re facing challenges of poor quality produce from some farmers although they have market for the products.
He advised farmers to buy quality seeds from companies like Agrofresh if they want quality products.
